Woman hit by car in Stourton dies and arrest is made

A woman has been arrested over a fatal collision.

A 62-year-old woman and another pedestrian were walking a dog when a silver Audi struck them on Bridgnorth Road in Stourton, Staffordshire.

The 62-year-old was confirmed dead at hospital after the incident on Thursday morning. The other pedestrian, a woman, had minor injuries. Her dog died.

A 53-year-old Shropshire woman was arrested after the crash, which happened at about 10:30 BST.

The incident happened as the pedestrians were walking the dog along a footpath towards Enville.

The woman who had minor injuries was taken to hospital for treatment before being released.
