Stoke-on-Trent car crash victim named as Gary Drewery

A man who died after the car he was driving hit a tree in Stoke-on-Trent has been named by police.

Gary Drewery, 47, from Wooliscroft Road in the Bucknall area in the city, was found unconscious in Beverley Drive on Tuesday.

The ambulance service, which was called to the road at 16:45 GMT, said he was confirmed dead shortly after being taken to hospital.

A woman who was an eyewitness to the incident suffered shock.
