Shiela Hopkins dies after being hit by van

A pedestrian who was hit by a van in Staffordshire at the weekend has died, police said.

The collision happened at the junction between Trinity Street and Foundry Street, in Hanley, on 6 November at about 13:30 GMT.

Sheila Hopkins, 75, from Trentham, was hit by a gold coloured Mercedes van.

She was taken to North Staffordshire University Hospital with serious head injuries and died on Monday night. A witness appeal has been launched.

Police said the driver of the van was not injured and nobody has been arrested or charged in connection with the incident.
