Jury retires in Stoke-on-Trent soldier rape trial

The jury in the trial of a serving soldier accused of raping a woman twice in Stoke-on-Trent, has retired to consider its verdict.

Nathan Chinn-Shaw, 25, denies two charges of rape and one count of assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

The soldier, who is originally from north Staffordshire, is based at Catterick Garrison, the British Army barracks in North Yorkshire.

The trial started on Monday at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court.
