£8.4m for Stoke-on-Trent primary schools

Up to £8.4m was spent on improvements to primary schools in Stoke-on-Trent during the previous academic year, the city council has said.

Fourteen schools shared in the improvements, which included extensions to school halls, a new kitchen and additional classrooms.

The council said additional capacity had to be made to cope with expected increases in pupil numbers.

They money was from the council's Primary Capital Programme.
