Uncle and nephew hit by car on Cannock zebra crossing

An uncle and his nephew were seriously hurt when they were hit by a car on a zebra crossing in Staffordshire.

The pair were hit close to an Asda store in Avon Road, Cannock, shortly before 15:00 GMT on Thursday.

West Midlands Ambulance Service said the boy, who is believed to be aged about three, was flown to hospital with serious head injuries.

His uncle, believed to be in his 40s, had a deep head wound and fractures to his arm and leg. No-one else was hurt.
