Motorcyclist dies in A51 crash in Staffordshire
A motorcyclist has died in a serious crash on the A51 in Staffordshire.
The rider was declared dead at the scene after his machine was in collision with a car, at about 07:50 GMT, in Weston.
Members of the public tried to resuscitate the man before ambulance crews arrived, but he could not be saved.
The driver of the car was examined at the scene, but did not require treatment.
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: "The motorcyclist was receiving CPR from members of the public before ambulance crews took over resuscitation attempts at the scene.
"Unfortunately, despite the best efforts of everyone, nothing could be done to save the man and he was confirmed dead."
Two air ambulances, from bases at Tatenhill and Cosford, were also called to the crash.
