Staffordshire A50 crash: Man killed as car hits tree
A man has died after the car he was driving left a dual carriageway in Staffordshire and crashed into a tree.
The crash happened on the eastbound A50 between the A511 and A516 about a mile from the JCB factory.
Emergency services crews were sent to the scene after a number of 999 calls at about 16:45 GMT on Tuesday.
An ambulance service spokesman said: "On arrival, the crews found a man who had suffered very serious injuries in a car at the bottom of the embankment."
He said the man was confirmed dead at the scene. He was the only occupant of the car.
