Motorcyclist in Stone crash dies on roadside

A 32-year-old motorcyclist died when his bike left the road and ended up in a ditch in Staffordshire.

Emergency services were called to near the junction of the B5027 Uttoxeter Road and the B5066 Sandon Road in Dayhills, Stone, at about 10:30 GMT.

Paramedics said they found the man in cardiac arrest and despite attempts to resuscitate him, he died at the scene.

Police say it is believed the man, who was on a green Kawasaki motorcycle, lost control of his bike.

The man is yet to be formally identified but it is thought he was travelling from Stafford to Hilderstone.

Any witnesses are asked to contact police.

The road was closed for about an hour and a half while emergency services were in attendance.
