London 2012-inspired dance scheme launched in Staffordshire
A London 2012 Cultural Olympiad scheme is being launched in which people will dance at a Stafford Castle performance.
Staffordshire residents will have the chance to go to classes under the Get Dancing project before performing to thousands at the castle in July.
It was being launched at the Jubilee 2 health and wellbeing centre, Newcastle-under-Lyme, on Tuesday morning.
A total of £92,000 has been secured from Dancing for the Games, part of the Cultural Olympiad in the West Midlands.
Programme manager for Dancing for the Games Naomi Temple said the Staffordshire initiative would give people a chance to work with dance company Retina and "to create their own choreography".
