The victim of a hit-and-run incident in Staffordshire has been named by police.

Donna Adams, from Hartington Close in Leek, died at the junction of Cruso Street and Broad Street in the town at about 13:30 BST on Friday.

The 48-year-old was hit by a vehicle that did not stop at the scene of the collision.

Staffordshire Police said they were appealing to anyone "who may have seen a white HGV in the area at the time of the collision".

Sgt Ian Revans, the force's investigating officer, said: "Our inquiries have established that Miss Adams visited the shop on the corner of Sneyd Street and Broad Street shortly before the collision occurred.

"We want to hear from anyone who may have seen her walking from the direction of the shop along Broad Street.

"Miss Adams was white and had light coloured hair.

"She was wearing a light brown coat with black leggings and black framed glasses. She also had a walking stick."
