Stafford railway station gets £3m renovation

Renovation work worth £3m has begun at Stafford railway station.

The station will remain open to passengers during the work, which will take nine months, said a spokesperson from Network Rail.

They said three platforms would get new roof coverings and be resurfaced after becoming uneven.

The firm added there were broken roof lights on the footbridge. Two platforms at the station were resurfaced last year, they said.
