Woman dies month after crash in Stoke-on-Trent

A 71-year-old woman has died in hospital nearly a month after being involved in a traffic accident in Stoke-on-Trent.

Kathleen Brennan, from Little Chell, Stoke-on-Trent, was a passenger in a Vauxhall Corsa which hit a lamppost on Greenbank Road on 31 December.

The 76-year-old woman driving the car suffered minor injuries in the crash which happened at about 11:00 GMT.

Staffordshire Police want to hear from any witnesses to the collision.

Ms Brennan died at the University Hospital of North Staffordshire, on 25 January.

Her family said in a statement: "We wish to thank everyone for their support, concern and prayers, during this difficult and traumatic time.

"We would also like to thank the staff of ward 227 for the care given to our much loved sister and auntie."
