Pedestrian dies after A5 collision in Staffordshire

A pedestrian has died after a collision involving a lorry in Staffordshire.

Emergency services were called to the A5 in Cannock, near to the junction of Delta Way, at about 04:30 GMT.

The 43-year-old pedestrian was taken to the University Hospital of North Staffordshire in Stoke-on-Trent, where he later died.

The driver of the lorry, a man in his 60s from Cheshire, was not injured. The vehicle was travelling in the direction of the M6.
