Staffordshire lorry fire causes chemical leak
About 1,000 litres of "highly caustic" chemicals have leaked on to a road in Staffordshire after a lorry fire.
It broke out at about 10:37 BST in a lay-by at Laney Green on the A460 in Cannock, near Junction 11 of the M6.
Ian Housley of Staffordshire Fire and Rescue said the fire was believed to have started in the trailer and caused the chemicals to leak out of a container.
Some roads and M6 exits were closed and the fire was put out by about midday.
An investigation is under way and crews are currently carrying out a clean-up operation with support from the Environment Agency, highways team and the haulage company.
Other cargo on the trailer was unaffected.
