A nurse who was struck off the nursing register after she lied about A and E waiting times at Stafford Hospital has resigned from her post.

Tracey-Ann White was also found by the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) panel last week to have made abusive comments about staff and patients.

Mid Staffordshire NHS Trust's chief executive, Maggie Oldham, said Ms White left her job with the trust as a clinical site manager on Tuesday.

Ms White had denied all allegations.

The NMC panel found that Ms White and her colleague Sharon Turner had brought their profession into serious disrepute.

They took false recordings between 2000 and 2010 to avoid breaches of four-hour waiting targets, the NMC panel heard.

Ms Turner left the trust in September 2009.
