Shaun Hodgkinson named as pedestrian killed in crash

A pedestrian who died after he was hit by a taxi in Stoke-on-Trent has been named by police.

He was 26-year-old Shaun Hodgkinson, of Hollywall Lane, Sandyford, Staffordshire Police said.

The crash happened on High Street, Sandyford, near Tunstall, at about 04:30 GMT on Sunday.

A 41-year-old man arrested in connection with the incident has been bailed, pending further inquiries, to a date in December, police said.

A statement issued by Mr Hodgkinson's family described him as "a great son, brother, partner and father".
