'Arson' at disused Fegg Hayes social club

A blaze at a disused social club was arson, Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service has said.

The fire at the single-storey Fegg Hayes Sports and Social Club started at 07:10 BST and took more than three hours to bring under control.

The ground floor and a roof space at the site on Oxford Road, Fegg Hayes, were well alight.

Three men, aged 30, 19 and 18, have been arrested on suspicion of arson and burglary.

Twenty firefighters from Sandyford, Hanley, Kidsgrove, Leek and Longton fought the blaze.
