Two men arrested after a body was found in woodland have been released with "no further action", police said.

The man's body was discovered near playing fields in Whittle Road, Meir, in Stoke-on-Trent on Thursday.

Police said the man is yet to be formally identified, but they believe him to be Paul Woodcock, who was reported missing in Meir on 9 August.

A post mortem test was inconclusive, and police said they are treating the death as "unexplained".

Further tests which may take "several weeks" will be carried out to establish the cause of death, a spokesman said.
