Man arrested after Stoke-on-Trent street death
A man has been arrested after a woman died in the street in Stoke-on-Trent.
The victim, who has not yet been identified, was found in Cauldon Road, near the junction with Boughey Road, in Shelton, at about 21:30 GMT on Sunday.
She was pronounced dead at the scene. A post mortem examination is expected to be carried out later.
Staffordshire Police said the exact circumstances had not been established but a 68-year-old man was in custody and being questioned by officers.
A second man was taken to hospital with leg injuries, but has since been discharged.
The area has been cordoned off to allow officers to investigate the scene and Staffordshire Police has asked anyone with information to contact them.

Cauldon Road is usually quite busy, just off one of the main routes into Stoke.
A large section of it is now cordoned off, with a police forensics tent outside a house about halfway down the street.
There's an obvious police presence, with officers manning the barriers at either end.
