A parcel delivery firm is holding a recruitment day for former City Link workers made redundant over Christmas.

Almost 2,400 members of staff lost their jobs after the Coventry-based firm called in administrators on Christmas Eve.

The firm has denied it mishandled the collapse.

APC Overnight said it would make up to 100 jobs available and will hold the jobs fair at its national sorting centre in Cannock, Staffordshire later.

Emma Scott, from APC said: "We've organised the recruitment day to provide further information on the roles we currently have on offer.

"There are some highly talented people out there at the moment that are unfortunately now having to look for new jobs and we want to do all we can to make them aware of some of the opportunities that are available to them here at APC."

Administrators from Ernst & Young announced on 1 January that 2,356 jobs would be lost after a bid to buy City Link failed.
