River Trent body find in Stoke

A man's body has been recovered from a river in Stoke-on-Trent.

He was discovered by a member of the public in the River Trent at Shelton, next to Staffordshire University, at about 13:50 GMT on Saturday.

The man has yet to be formally identified and officers said they were trying to trace his family.

Staffordshire Police said they were treating the death as unexplained and a post mortem examination was expected to be carried out on Monday.
