Driver sought after pedestrian injured in hit-and-run

The driver of a car that struck a pedestrian leaving him with critical head injuries is being sought by police in Suffolk.

The incident happened on Monday evening in Ipswich when a 43-year-old man was hit by a Toyota MR2 on Grafton Way, outside the Royal Mail sorting office.

The driver of the Toyota did not stop at the scene.

The injured man was taken to Ipswich Hospital and transferred to Addenbrooke's Hospital in Cambridge.

His condition is described as "critical but stable".
