Chef detained in immigration raid in Aldeburgh

A Moroccan man has been detained in a raid by immigration officers on a restaurant in Suffolk.

Officers raided the Prezzo Italian restaurant in High Street, Aldeburgh.

Immigration checks showed that one of the chefs was in the country illegally and working without permission, the UK Border Agency said.

The 37-year-old Moroccan man, who was using a false French ID, is expected to be deported. The restaurant could be fined up to £10,000.
