Man held over rape of girl, 14, in Sudbury

A man has been arrested by police investigating the rape of a 14-year-old girl in Suffolk.

The girl was with a friend in North Street, Sudbury, on Saturday night when they began talking to two men.

One of them took the girl down an alley to a car park where he raped her. The attack was witnessed by her friend who shouted at the man and he ran off.

A man in his 20s and from the Sudbury area is in custody and will be questioned later.

Police appealed for anyone with information about the incident to contact officers.
