Girl sexually assaulted on bus in Ipswich

A 17-year-old girl has been sexually assaulted while on a bus in the centre of Ipswich.

The incident happened at about 1715 GMT on Wednesday after the victim got on to a number nine or 10 bus at the bus stop at the Tower Ramparts shopping centre.

A man sat next to her and "touched her inappropriately", before getting off the bus in Norwich Road, opposite the Norbridge Club said police.

He was described as having tanned skin and was in his late 20s to early 30s.

He was more than 6ft (1.8m) tall, slim build, with short black spiky hair and clean-shaven.

He was wearing a long-sleeved purple hooded top with the hood down and dark trousers and was carrying a cream shoulder strapped man bag with black writing on it.

Anyone with information is asked to call Suffolk Police.
