Woman dog walker raped in house in Ipswich

A woman has been raped in Ipswich after a man forced his way into a house.

The attack happened in the Melville Road area in the early hours of Saturday morning.

The woman had been followed to the house by a man after she had gone out to walk a friend's dog at 0300 GMT.

He put his foot in the door and forced his way into the house and raped her before leaving. Scenes of crime officers have been at the property.

The man was described as white, about 5ft 5in (1.65m) tall, with dark hair. He was unkempt, wearing dark clothes and spoke with a foreign accent.

Detectives are asking anyone who may have been in the area between 2330 GMT on Friday and 0710 GMT on Saturday to contact Suffolk Police.
