Pedestrian dies in lorry crash in Sudbury

An elderly pedestrian died when he was struck by a lorry in the centre of a Suffolk town.

The man, who has not been named, was hit in Market Hill, Sudbury, at about 1330 GMT. He died at the scene.

Police said the lorry driver, 49, was uninjured.

Market Hill was closed for several hours to allow officers to carry out investigations. It reopened in the early evening. Witnesses are asked to contact Suffolk Police.
