Youths sought after spate of heath fires in Suffolk

Suffolk Police is hunting a group of youths after a series of heath fires.

Firefighters tackled a number of blazes on Martlesham Heath on Saturday and were called back out when some re-ignited.

Suffolk Police said arsonists may be responsible and want information about youths they believe were seen playing with lighters near the heath.

There were also separate incidents at Kesgrave, near Ipswich, and Dunwich Forest, near Leiston, in north Suffolk.

Carl Francis from Suffolk Fire and Rescue said: "We are aware of the potential for accidental fires.

"However we are also aware, unfortunately, that there is a number of people who are starting these fires deliberately."
