Henry Cecil knighted in Queen's Birthday Honours list

Henry Cecil has been recognised in the Queen's Birthday Honours list.

The Newmarket trainer becomes a Knight Bachelor for services to horse racing. The flat racing specialist has had winners at all five Classics.

Jeremy Whichcote Phillips Richardson, former chief executive of the Injured Jockey's Fund, was also among the 13 people in Suffolk to receive an honour.

He was appointed OBE along with Alison Margaret Blackburn and Elizabeth Ann Williams.

Nine people in the county were appointed MBE.
