Ambulance crews find body in Ipswich flat and call police

The body of a woman, believed to be in her 50s, has been found in a flat in Suffolk after neighbours alerted the ambulance service.

Paramedics called police just before 2330 BST on Wednesday to Burrell Road in Ipswich. The death is being treated as unexplained, police said.

"The coroner will be informed and a post-mortem examination conducted in due course," a spokeswoman said.

The flat has been cordoned off for a scene of crime investigation.

Police are making inquiries to trace next of kin, and until they have been located and the body identified, no further details will be released, the spokeswoman said.
