Man arrested after attack in Stowmarket

A man has been arrested by police who were trying to trace a group of men after an assault in Stowmarket.

The attack took place In Hollingsworth Road at 0415 BST on Sunday after a row between the two male victims and a group of four men.

One man, attacked by a member of the the group, sustained a suspected fractured cheekbone.

The other suffered minor injuries. Both were taken to hospital. A man, 26, handed himself in on Sunday afternoon.

He was arrested and is being questioned by officers.

The two groups of men had first been involved in what police called a row on Ipswich Street near the Jokers nightclub about 15 minutes earlier.

The four-man group were all in fancy-dress gear, with one in a full red Liverpool FC kit and another dressed as Woody the children's film Toy Story.
