Grant for £6.25m Lowestoft transport scheme

A multi-million pound scheme to improve transport links in and around Lowestoft has been given a £5m government grant.

Suffolk County Council's scheme includes a bridge over Lake Lothing for pedestrians and cyclists and a "Loop" bus service to key parts of the town and tourist sites.

The cost of the scheme is £6.25m with £1.25m coming from the county council.

Guy McGregor, transport portfolio holder, and Colin Law, Waveney District Council leader, welcomed the grant.
