Appeal to find Ipswich sex attack suspect

A description of a man police want to question in connection with a sexual assault in Ipswich has been issued.

The attack on the 19-year-old woman happened at about 23:20 BST on Sunday 31 July in Belstead Road.

The attacker was white, about 40 years old, 5ft 10in (1.8m) or 5ft 11in (1.8m) tall and of large build.

He was wearing a dark coloured hooded top with light coloured stripes down both sleeves, dark tracksuit bottoms and light coloured trainers.

'Three sets'

Det Insp Stuart Sowerby said: "Officers have carried out inquiries over the course of the week, including searches of an area of wasteland, viewing CCTV and speaking to people living nearby.

"Through these inquiries we have identified three sets of people we want to speak to.

"Firstly, the victim asked for directions from a couple on or near Stoke Park Drive at around 23:15 BST last Sunday.

"Secondly, she also approached a male jogger in the same area between 23:20 and 23:55 BST.

"Thirdly, a group of 17-year-olds were walking along Stoke Park Drive towards Bourne Park at around 2315 BST."
