Felixstowe murder inquiry: Police granted more time with suspect

Police have been granted extra time to question a 23-year-old man being held on suspicion of murder following a stabbing in Suffolk on Friday night.

The incident happened in Selvale Way, Felixstowe, when an ambulance crew treating an injured 29-year-old man alerted police.

The man was taken to hospital where he died from stab wounds.

A 23-year-old man from Ipswich and a 54-year-old man from Felixstowe were arrested on suspicion of murder.

A magistrate has granted a warrant of further detention in respect of the 23-year-old man and police can now hold him for a further 36 hours - until Monday morning.

A 24-year-old man from Felixstowe, arrested on suspicion of aggravated burglary in connection with this incident, has been released on police bail and must return to the Martlesham police station on 7 February.

Officers want to speak to anyone who was in the area of Selvale Road on Friday night and may have any information about this incident.
