Man remanded over fatal stabbing in Bury St Edmunds

A 48-year-old man has been remanded in custody charged with murder after a fatal stabbing in a Suffolk town.

Mark Turner, 48, from Cockfield in Suffolk, appeared at Ipswich Crown Court charged with the murder of Robin Lionnet, 43, from Bury St Edmunds.

Mr Lionnet was found in Ashwell Road in Bury St Edmunds on Tuesday and pronounced dead at West Suffolk Hospital.

Mr Turner will return to court on 4 May for a plea and case management hearing.

A post-mortem examination revealed Mr Lionnet died from a stab wound.
