Brandon GP Imran Khalid Khan in court for sexual assault

A Suffolk doctor has appeared in court charged with 12 counts of sexual assault, including seven relating to a girl under the age of 13.

Imran Khalid Khan, 39, is accused of five counts of abuse in 2007 in Woolpit, near Bury St Edmunds, and seven last year in Brandon.

Mr Khan is a GP at the Forest Group Practice in Brandon.

He entered no plea at Bury Magistrates' Court and was released on conditional bail.

He is due to appear at Ipswich Crown Court on 19 April.
