Suffolk pair dishonestly claimed housing benefit

A man and a woman who dishonestly claimed £42,000 in housing benefit, have been given an eight month prison sentence, suspended for two years.

Rosalind Vaughan, 55, and George Gibbs, 49, both of Union Road, One House, near Stowmarket, Suffolk, were also ordered to do 100 hours of unpaid work.

The pair admitted fraud at Ipswich Crown Court and were sentenced on Thursday, said court officials.

The prosecution followed an inquiry by Mid Suffolk District Council.
