Matthew Stott, Suffolk policeman, faces drink-drive trial

A Suffolk police officer is to go on trial accused of drinking and driving and failing to stop for police.

PC Matthew Stott, 43, from Kingfisher Road in Stowmarket, is accused of driving on the A14 while over the limit in the early hours of 22 September.

He denies the charges and will go on trial at Norwich Magistrates' Court on 18 February.

Suffolk Police said PC Stott, who was not on duty at the time, had been suspended on full pay.

A spokesperson said the matter was being looked into by Suffolk Police's professional standards department.
