Ipswich kidnap and burning inquiry: Woman arrested

A woman has been arrested by police investigating an alleged kidnapping in Ipswich on Monday when a man was treated for burns.

Officers said the victim was sitting in his car on Bell Close when two men got in, threatened him and drove him to a house in the town.

Police said he was blindfolded, burnt and forced to hand over money before being released.

A 23-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to kidnap.

The victim, who is in his 20s, later found his house had been burgled.

He has since been discharged from hospital where he was treated for his injuries.

Police, who originally said they were looking for three black men and two white women, arrested the woman at a house on Purplett Street, which they believe is the address the victim was taken to.
