A 23-year-old woman, arrested after an alleged kidnapping in Ipswich on Monday when a man was treated for burns, has been released on police bail.

Officers said the victim was sitting in his car in Bell Close when two men got in, threatened him and drove him to a house in the town.

Police said the man, in his 20s, was blindfolded, burnt and forced to hand over money before being released.

The woman was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to kidnap on Friday.

She has been bailed to return to the Martlesham Police Investigation Centre on 5 April 2013.

The victim has since been discharged from hospital where he was treated for his injuries.
