Man charged after Ipswich pensioner mugged twice in three days

A man from Essex has been charged with robbery following an inquiry into attacks on an 89-year-old who was mugged twice in three days in Ipswich.

The man was robbed of money in Wingfield Street last Thursday and again on Foundation Street on Saturday.

Colton Bridgeman, 19, of Harwich, has been charged with the second of these robberies and with the theft of a woman's purse on Bond Street on Monday.

He has appeared before magistrates and is due back in court later this month.

Mr Bridgeman, of Weavers Court, has also been charged with a drug-related offence.
