Ipswich suspected murder attempt: Man bailed

A 55-year-old man arrested on suspicion of the attempted murder of a woman in Ipswich has been released on bail.

The woman was found unconscious with serious injuries at a property in Garrick Way on Friday. She remains in a critical condition, police said.

A second man, 51, remains in custody after magistrates granted police more time to question him.

The 55-year-old man is due to answer bail at Martlesham station on 3 December.

The woman, in her 40s, was taken to Ipswich Hospital.
