Ipswich chemical leak police in hospital

Six police officers called to a chemical leak at a house in Ipswich had to be taken to hospital.

They were initially called to a burglary at Harebell Road at about 20:10 BST.

During a search, they found a mixture of chemicals had been poured down a sink and caused a reaction.

The house was evacuated and a cordon put in place for about two hours. The officers later resumed their duties.

A police spokesman said the burglary inquiry was continuing.
