Woman, 94, robbed on mobility scooter in Ipswich

A 94-year-old woman who was on her mobility scooter has been robbed by a man who stopped her to ask for directions.

The woman was riding along Emlen Street in Ipswich at about 13:30 BST on Saturday when it happened, police said.

After asking for directions, the offender reached down and took her handbag, which contained a purse with money and bank cards.

He is described as being white and about 5ft 10in (1.7m) tall.

He had swept-back short blond hair and was wearing black trousers and a black bomber jacket.

Suffolk Police said he ran off towards the junction of Handford Road and Burlington Road.
