Arrest after car 'driven at a woman' in Elmswell
A man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after reports a car mounted a pavement and hit a woman in a Suffolk village.
Police were called to Elmswell near Bury St Edmunds at about 08:45 GMT.
The victim was traced at about 15:00 was not believed to be seriously injured, police said.
A 26-year-old man went to Bury St Edmunds police station to say he had been involved in an accident. He was arrested and held for questioning.
Police said a witness had also seen the woman being bundled into the car during the incident on Ashfield Road.
The vehicle believed to be involved was later found in Rickinghall.
Police are appealing for more information from anyone who was in the area or who may have been approached by the woman prior to the incident.
