A fatal house fire in a Suffolk village is not being treated as suspicious, police have said.

The fire service and police were called to reports of the blaze in Nethergate Street, Clare, near Sudbury, at about 07:50 GMT on Tuesday.

Firefighters found a body in the property. A joint investigation concluded the "significant" fire was "accidental".

Inquiries are continuing to formally identify the body, police said.

A post-mortem examination has yet to be carried out.
