Suffolk police hunt Bungay hit-and-run crash driver
Police are hunting the driver of a car which drove away from a crash which has killed a 42-year-old pedestrian.
The accident happened in Bridge Street at 01:40 BST on Friday and the victim was taken to Addenbrooke's hospital in Cambridge with multiple injuries.
The man, from Bungay, died in hospital on Saturday evening.
Insp David Giles appealed for the driver to come forward adding: "I am in no doubt that the driver will have known what happened at the scene."
Police have issued a picture of a Nissan Qashquai thought to be similar to the car involved.
Insp Giles said the driver may "not have realised the seriousness of the pedestrian's injuries at the time".
"It is in their interests to come forward as soon as possible," he said.
