Weybread killings: Peter Stuart's body 'wrapped in black material'
The body of man who was stabbed to death was discovered wrapped in a "black material" near a woodland stream, an inquest has heard.
Peter Stuart and his wife Sylvia Stuart, of Weybread in Suffolk, were reported missing on 3 June.
Mr Stuart's body was discovered with multiple stab wounds later that day but his wife - who police believe was also killed - has not been found.
Ali Qazimaj, 43, formerly of Tilbury, has denied murdering the couple.
Police said all inquiries to prove Mrs Stuart was alive had "proved negative".
The couple's daughter, Christy Paxman, said she had last seen her parents at their home on Saturday 28 May.
CCTV images showed the couple had been at a farm shop in Norfolk the following day.
Ms Paxman alerted the police after friends and neighbours contacted her to say they had not seen Mr and Mrs Stuart around the village or attending their usual dance classes.
Coroner Peter Dean told the inquest in Ipswich: "These are a very, very sad and somewhat unusual set of circumstances in that the body of Mr Stuart has been found but the body of Mrs Stuart has not."
The hearing was opened and adjourned.
Mr Qazimaj was arrested in Luxembourg and extradited to the UK.
