Surrey police trial mobile data handsets

Police in Surrey are piloting new mobile handsets that will allow them to access computer programs and databases while out on patrol.

North Surrey officers are the first to try out the data handsets which are to be rolled out across the force.

The new equipment means officers will no longer need to return to a station or contact the force control room to carry out checks and complete forms.

Officers will also have mobile printers so they can duplicate forms easily.
